A production briefing session for the movie "Broken" was held at 11 a.m. today (6th) at the entrance of Lotte Cinema Konkuk University. In addition to director Kim Jin-hwang, who directed the film, actors Jungwoo Ha, Kim Nam-gil, Judas, Jung Man-sik, and Lim Sung-jae attended the production briefing to talk about the work.
'Broken' is a crime-tracking film about Min-tae (Jungwoo Ha)'s anger as he runs to the end to reveal the truth of the night, from his brother who returned to the dead body, his wife who disappeared, and his best-selling novel predicting the incident. {The Chaser}{황}{The Yellow Sea', as well as Kim Nam-gil, Judas, Jung Man-sik and Lim Sung-jae, will fill the play with a heavy presence.
First of all, director Kim Jin-hwang explained why he cast Jungwoo Ha, saying, "I personally wanted to work with Jungwoo Ha since I was a movie student. I decided to plan Broken when I wanted to work on it once, and I discussed casting with the producer while making Min-tae's character."
The Jungwoo Ha also said, "I was impressed by director Kim Jin-hwang's 'The Shepherds' and had a deep relationship with the representative of the film's production company, Men Pictures. "I heard the scenario from the CEO, and I think we were right because we were looking for a new, rough, and classical work," he said, explaining the reason for his appearance.
Jungwoo Ha then described Broken as a "work that smells like gasoline," raising expectations for the work.
"From the atmosphere from the scene to the ensemble of actors, it was like a movie that smelled like gasoline," he said. "There are elements of thriller twist and action, but I thought it was a movie with a strong dramatic attraction." He continued, "The density and concentration that make up the scene reminded me of the time when I first started the movie. Intuitively and instinctively, I prepared it," he added.
Jungwoo Ha said, "In the play, Min-tae learns of his brother's death and his breathing changes. Even the focus of the world's gaze changes. After the death of his younger brother, he shows the image of a beast running toward the target without looking back and looking everywhere," he explained, signaling a violent psychological change in the work.
The movie is set to be released on February 5.
