Jeonnam Promotes Special Act on Damage Support and Creation of Memorial Park, etc.

2025.01.06 PM 02:31
South Jeolla Province announced follow-up measures to the Jeju Air plane disaster, including the enactment of a special law and the creation of a memorial park.

Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok said he will push for the enactment of the "Special Act on Support for Damage to Jeju Air Aircraft Accidents" to provide systematic and institutional support at the national level.

He then said he would spend KRW 46 billion to build a 70,000-square-meter memorial park near Muan International Airport to make it a healing space.

Governor Kim added that he will also urge the government to thoroughly find out the truth through objective and rational investigations to prevent such accidents from happening again.

At the same time, Jeollanam-do plans to form a pan-governmental consultative body to make sure that Muan International Airport operates normally as soon as possible.
