Jeju Air, which suffered a passenger accident this time, showed the highest number of delays due to aircraft maintenance among domestic airlines in the first half of last year.
According to the data received by Lee Yeon-hee of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Jeju Air had a total of 536 delayed departures or arrivals due to maintenance in the first half of last year.
The number of such "maintenance delays" by Jeju Air was the highest among the 10 domestic airlines, including Korean Air, which has a higher total number of flights.
The increase in Jeju Air's maintenance delays seems to have increased sharply as it increased the utilization rate of aircraft after the COVID-19 situation ended, and Jeju Air's average monthly flight hours in the third quarter of last year was 418 hours, more than double that of the COVID-19 period.
