As the arrest warrant for Yoon Suk Yeol's president is set to expire, a civic group has pointed to the incompetence of the high-ranking government official's criminal investigation agency.
Yoon Seok-yeol, Retired Social Reform Emergency Action held a press conference near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul today (6th), and even though the court acknowledged the legality of the arrest warrant, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit condemned the attempt to hand over the enforcement authority to the police without re-enforcement.
At the same time, it is doubtful that the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit will be able to properly investigate and punish high-ranking officials' crimes in the future, he said, adding that he will hold the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit accountable after President Yoon's arrest.
