A daughter in her 80s who was hospitalized with an infusion solution... guilty of "surviving."

A second trial court sentenced the daughter, who took out an infusion needle of an elderly mother in her 80s who was hospitalized, to a suspended prison sentence.

The Seoul High Court sentenced A, who was handed over to trial on charges of perpetual murder, to two and a half years in prison and four years of probation.

Earlier, the first trial court sentenced his daughter to one year in prison and two years of probation by applying only the charge of manslaughter, considering her daughter's perpetual murder as innocent.

However, the second trial court judged that A could acknowledge the willful negligence of permanent killing, citing the fact that he heard sufficient explanations from medical staff about the drug.

However, the court added that the suspended sentence was given in consideration of the fact that A accidentally committed the crime while mentally and physically weak, thinking that he should quickly move to a nursing hospital for his elderly mother's comfortable death.

Mr. A is accused of killing his mother in November 2022 by removing her fluid injection from her hospitalized mother for symptoms such as heart failure, and then turning off the monitor to check breathing and pulse abnormalities.
