Japanese car manufacturer Toyota unveiled its futuristic city "Woven City" at CES.Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda
unveiled the progress of "Woven City" to media around the world at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas on the 6th local time."Woven City is a place where everyone can invent and develop all kinds of new products and ideas," Toyoda Chairman
said. "We will welcome our first 100 residents this fall after the first phase of the plan."
"Woven City," a $10 billion, 14 trillion won project, opened its first shovel at the foot of Mount Fuji in 2021 as a smart city where you can experience future technologies in real life.Toyota Chairman
Toyoda explained that all residents in the first phase are employees of Toyota and its subsidiary "Woven by Toyota" and said, "The goal is to go through the second and subsequent phases to build enough housing and facilities for up to 2,000 people throughout the year."
The video released on the day showed self-driving cars, laundry-folding robots, pet robots such as pet dogs, and personal drones that are believed to be implemented in Woven City.
Woven City's energy will be supplied by Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell technology.
