The Democratic Party of Korea criticized Kwon Sung-dong, the floor leader of the People's Power, for stopping external pressure, saying he threatened the impeachment trial process by meeting with the Constitutional Court again following a protest visit to the Constitutional Court.
Cho Seung-rae, a senior spokesman, said at a briefing, "Do you think the public doesn't know the intention to delay the impeachment trial to continue the civil war and plunge the country into further chaos?"
He then argued that an early impeachment trial is the way to stabilize the state of affairs, and that the more the deterrence and livelihoods to interfere with it, the more clear the "insurrection" will become.
At the same time, the Constitutional Court said it hopes to proceed with the impeachment trial quickly and strictly in accordance with constitutional principles without giving in to undue pressure.
