North Korea has claimed to have successfully test-fired a new hypersonic medium- and long-range ballistic missile that reflects new materials and technologies.

This is the image of a hypersonic mid- to long-range ballistic missile and IRBM launch, which North Korea revealed as a successful test-firing.

North Korean media reported that the missile launched from Pyongyang toward the northeast flew 12 times the speed of sound and hit the target waters on high seas.

It flew inland, with the first peak altitude of 99.8km and the second peak altitude of 42.5km, making the drop bigger and the flying distance longer than the test launch in April last year.

Furthermore, North Korean media claimed that carbon fiber composites were used in manufacturing and that new technologies were introduced in flight and guidance control systems.
