U.S. second trial court also allows Trump to rule on 'muzzled money trial'

2025.01.08 AM 06:24
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump asked a higher court to block Trump's sentence in the trial of the "sex scandal gag money payment case," but it was rejected.

As the first and second trial courts did not accept Trump's request to postpone the sentence one after another, the first trial sentence is expected to be sentenced on the 10th, 10 days before the president's inauguration.

The New York State High Court did not accept Trump's request to suspend the sentence by applying criminal immunity to the transition period before taking office in the first trial of Trump's sex scandal gag money-paying case.

Just before the 2016 presidential election, Trump handed over about 200 million won to former adult movie star Stormy Daniels to prevent past sexual intercourse revelations and was put on trial for manipulating related accounting records.

A jury found Trump guilty of all 34 criminal charges in May last year.

The court confirmed Trump's guilt, but said it was reasonable to sentence him to "unconditional release" rather than imprisonment.
