2025.01.08 AM 07:28
On the 29th of last month, the body of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100, arrived in Washington, D.C., where the national funeral will be held.

On the 7th local time, Carter's body departed from the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Air Force One, a U.S. presidential plane, and settled at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland near Washington.

Carter's coffin, wrapped in an American flag, was removed from the plane amid a military band's hymn and 21 salute launches, loaded into a permanent car at Joint Base Andrews before heading to the U.S. Naval Memorial in downtown Washington.

Carter's body was then temporarily placed in the central hall of the U.S. Capitol, where a memorial service was held with members of the Senate and House of Representatives attending.

Former President Carter's national funeral will be strictly held on the 9th local time at the National Cathedral in Washington, with former and current U.S. presidents, including Trump, attending, and President Joe Biden will deliver a memorial speech.
