Trump to revoke U.S. coastal drilling ban...Gulf of Mexico, renamed United States Bay"

2025.01.08 AM 07:31
Trump said he would "immediately reverse" the Biden administration's decision to ban the development of new crude oil and gas off the coasts of the United States, including the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

"The ban on coastal drilling will not be maintained," Trump said at a news conference in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and "if I have to go to court for this, I will go to court immediately."

He also criticized the Biden administration's ban on drilling, saying, "The value is estimated to be $50 trillion, which is more than the U.S. national debt, and President Biden abandoned it."

He then mentioned the Gulf of Mexico surrounded by Florida, Texas, Mexico, and Cuba in the United States, saying, "We will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to 'United States only,'" and added, "How beautiful a name it is."

Trump has said he will push for a wind-free policy, arguing that wind power without subsidies is responsible for whale deaths, adding that gas boilers are cheaper and better than electric boilers.
