Korean Women's Judo Prospect Jang Se-yoon Joins KH Group's Philux Judo Team

KH Group Filux Judo Team recruited -52kg Jang Se-yoon as the highest treatment among female judokas, including down payment and annual salary.

Jang Se-yoon visited the headquarters of KH Group located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, on the afternoon of the 7th, signed a contract with the KH Group Philux Judo Group and held a joining ceremony. Choi Won, the head of the KH Group Philux Judo Team, and Song Dae-nam, the head of the KH Group Philux Judo Team, attended the joining ceremony.

Jang Se-yoon, who is set to graduate from Korea National Sports University in February after graduating from Seoul Weightlifting and Seoul National Sports High School, has been recognized for her growth potential by distinguishing herself in various international competitions, including winning the Asian Junior Championship and Perth Junior Oceania Cup in 22 years in a row.

In the first national team selection match in 2025, which was held last year, it ranked first in the women's -52kg class, establishing itself as a lightweight prospect for women's judo in Korea.

Song Dae-nam, head coach of the Philux Judo Team of KH Group, said, "Jang Se-yoon's strength is his ability to maintain his pace until the second half of the game with strong concentration and endurance, and a quick technological change that is difficult for the opponent to respond to."

General manager Choi Won introduced Jang as "a player who resembles the strong spirit and determination of Kim Mi-jung, Cho Min-sun, and Jung Sung-sook, who were the first generation of Korean women's judo," adding, "He is a promising player who is expected to continue his gold medal following Cho Min-sun (a professor at Korea National Sports University) at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, who remains the last gold medalist in women's judo."

He added, "He is a good player to treat the best according to the club's policy, which highly values the sweat shed by the guide."

In response, Jang Se-yoon said, "I would like to thank KH Group for recruiting me as the best treatment, my parents for making me dream of judo for the first time, and Professor Cho Min-sun of Korea National Sports University. I will do my best in every competition with the goal of winning the gold medal at the LA Olympics."
