Denmark's king has unveiled a new royal sentence that emphasizes self-governing Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

The royal family announced on the 6th (local time) that it had enacted a new royal coat last December and introduced a new royal flag.

In the new sentence, the upright polar bear (the symbol of Greenland) and the ram (the symbol of the Faroe Islands) are much more emphasized.

"The upright polar bear has been a symbol of Greenland since the 1960s," the Danish royal said, explaining that the change shows its importance.

In this sentence, the three crowns representing the old union of Denmark, Norway and Sweden were deleted, which the royal family said were "no longer relevant markers."

Experts see the sentence change as a response to Trump's remarks on buying Greenland.

Trump has publicly expressed his intention to buy Greenland, which has triggered sensitive issues in Denmark's relationship with Greenland.

"Greenland and the Faroe Islands are at the heart of the Kingdom of Denmark," King Frederick X said in his New Year's address this year, stressing that "the Kingdom of Denmark is united."

"The new sentence is a strong message that Denmark has a firm ownership of Greenland and the Faroe Islands," said Danish royal expert Lars Hovbake Schirensen, who interpreted it as not even subject to discussion.

Greenland, which is now Danish territory, was granted the right to independence in 2009, but Denmark is still in charge of defense and foreign policy.

It is known to be rich in natural resources, including rare earth minerals.
