If you want to go to England, you need an electronic travel permit...Expansion of 48 countries, including South Korea

2025.01.09 AM 03:41
The U.K. expanded its e-travel permit and ETA system for non-visa visitors to more than 40 countries, including South Korea, and implemented it on the 8th local time.

Apart from visas, the ETA applied it to five Middle Eastern countries - Qatar in 2023, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia last year - as entry permits obtained through online registration before entering the country, and then significantly expanded the target this time.

The countries to be expanded this time are 48 countries, including Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Argentina, and Brazil, and will be expanded to 34 European countries from April 2.

If you receive an ETA, you can stay in the UK without a visa for up to six months at a time over two years.

If you reissue your passport, you also need to get the ETA again, and the issuance fee is 10 pounds, about 18,000 won.

The UK government explained that the implementation of the ETA expansion could be a simpler and safer system of entry.
