The Northern Gyeonggi Railway Line, which used to be the representative railway transportation route, will be reborn in 20 years.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that the Mugunghwa train from Uijeongbu will start operating at 6 a.m. on the 11th from Daegok Station to Uijong Station, the central east-west railway connecting Goyang City, Yangju City, and Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province.
Starting on the 11th, the Mugunghwa train will run eight round trips to six stations, including Daegok Station, Wonneung Station, and Ilyeong Station, and will gradually expand its operation after stabilizing in the future.
The basic fare for all sections is 2,600 won, and we plan to actively encourage use by holding a 1,000 won fare event for all sections by the 31st.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport expected the resumption of ultraviolet operations to bring new transportation innovation and tourism to northern Gyeonggi Province.
Previously opened in 1961, the subway line was a representative means of transportation in northern Gyeonggi Province to travel to Goyang, Yangju and Uijeongbu, but passenger trains were suspended in April 2004 as the number of passengers gradually declined due to the opening of the Seoul Outer Ring Road.
Since then, the local government and the Korea Railroad Corporation signed a business agreement to resume operations in August 2021 and invested KRW 49.7 billion to improve the facilities, and the interior facilities and exterior of the vehicle have been renovated to revive memories of the past.
