2025.01.09 PM 04:33
North Korean troops were seen evading Russian residents by throwing them out of their homes to avoid Ukrainian drones amid claims that thousands of North Korean casualties were sent to Russia.

The U.S. Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported on the 6th local time that the North Korean military drove residents out of their homes in Russia's Kursk Mahnovka region and used the homes as hideouts.

In the video taken by the drone, two residents wearing red clothes came out of the house, and a person who appeared to be a North Korean soldier talked to the residents and entered the house leaving the residents as they were outside the house.

"The elderly were left in the freezing cold," pro-Ukrainian channel Informnefarm said. "North Korean troops are using their homes as shelters."

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF) has revealed several times that North Korean troops are damaged by drone attacks.

The SOF said on its official Telegram on the 7th that soldiers from the 8th Regiment killed five people and killed eight more with drones after a gunfight with North Korean troops in Kursk.

Some of the North Korean soldiers killed were believed to be North Korean officers, who had different identification cards from ordinary soldiers, and were found to be belongings such as assault rifles equipped with sights, Chinese and Russian radio broadcasting channels, and drone detectors.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with a US podcast on the 5th local time, "12,000 (North Korean troops) have arrived, and 3,800 have been killed or injured so far. Since North Korea is a dictatorship, it can bring 30,000 to 40,000 or maybe 500,000 more by order."
