The People's Power criticized the Democratic Party not to mislead the ruling over the acquittal of former Marine Corps investigator Park Jung-hoon, who was indicted on charges of mutiny and other charges in the "Marine Corps Death Case."

Spokesperson Ho Jun-seok issued a comment, saying that the ruling was completely different from the "external pressure on the investigation" claimed by the Democratic Party.

Spokesman Ho said the court found it difficult to prove the specific facts that Kim Gye-hwan, then commander of the Marine Corps, ordered Park to suspend the transfer, adding that it was unclear whether there was an order, meaning that it could not be seen as an appeal.

The court then said that the Marine Corps investigation team was obliged to hand over the case of the death of soldiers to the police under the revision of the Military Court Act, stressing that it is in line with then-Minister Lee Jong-seop's position that the Marine Corps investigation team should not draw a conclusion because it does not have the right to investigate.

Spokesperson Ho urged the Democratic Party to apologize, saying that the investigation's external pressure turned out to be non-substantial because no evidence or testimony came out.
