U.S. court confirms Trump guilty... and sentences him to 'unconditionally release'

2025.01.11 AM 12:29
A U.S. court has sentenced U.S. President-elect Trump to "unconditional release" at a sentencing hearing, confirming that he is guilty of being put on trial for a "sexual scandal gag payment case," but without any punishment.

The Manhattan Criminal Court, New York's first trial court, sentenced Trump, who was accused of manipulating accounting records and paying gag money to prevent revelations of sexual intercourse with adult movie actors.

'Unconditional Release' means a sentence of conviction but not imprisonment or other conditions.

Trump participated in the trial non-face-to-face at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida as the judge in charge allowed him to attend non-face-to-face.

Trump's side used all legal means to prevent the conviction of a felony ahead of the presidential inauguration on the 20th, but failed to prevent the sentence in the end.
