Gyeonggi-do Province Launches 'Gyeonggi AI Campus', An Artificial Intelligence Exchange Base

Gyeonggi-do Province and the Gyeonggi-do Economic and Scientific Promotion Agency held the opening ceremony of the "Gyeonggi AI Campus" at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center in Pangyo today (11th).More than 80 people attended the opening ceremony under the name of

'Gyeonggi Youth AI Dream Up', including Kim Ki-byung, director of the Gyeonggi-do Province AI Bureau, Lee Je-young, chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council's Future Science Cooperation Committee, Jeon Seok-hoon, vice chairman, Kang Sung-cheon, director of the Gyeongsang Provincial Government, education officer of big tech companies, and artificial intelligence professionals.

has established a campus to provide network construction, such as technology sharing and collaboration by AI experts, as well as start-up planning, mentoring, employment and start-up support, and educational programs.

Gyeonggi AI Campus, located in Pangyo, is an AI exchange center of about 128 pyeong, consisting of a space that can be used as a group discussion and AI education center and a multipurpose space that can accommodate more than 100 people.

Kim Ki-byeong, director of the AI Bureau in Gyeonggi-do, said, "We will provide support to many young people to grow into AI experts through the Gyeonggi AI Campus and to help domestic and foreign AI experts realize their dreams of finding jobs and starting businesses and unicorn companies at the AI industry site in the province."

"Pangyo, where the first Gyeonggi AI Campus is opened, is the center of AI and technology in Korea beyond Gyeonggi-do Province," said Kang Sung-cheon, head of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency. "We will provide a place for AI exchange and education that is closely connected to the real life of the provincial residents beyond simple AI technology education."
