A presidential security officer accused of sexually harassing a woman on the subway has escaped criminal punishment.

Earlier this month, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office issued a suspension of prosecution on the condition that A, a civil servant of the presidential office's security office, is suspected of harassing public places under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

The suspension of prosecution is a disposition in which the prosecution does not hand over the suspect to trial considering various circumstances.

Mr. A is accused of touching the body of a victim in a Seoul subway car in April.

Earlier, it was known that the presidential office's security service was issuing a standby order against Mr. A immediately after the police notified him of the start of the investigation and is proceeding with the disciplinary process.
