Typhoon No. 21, heading to Japan...There's no direct impact on the Korean Peninsula.

2024.10.25 AM 09:22
At around 6 a.m. today, the 21st typhoon 'Kongrey' occurred in the sea about 210 kilometers southeast of Guam.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said the 21st typhoon is expected to gradually move northwest and pass through the southern waters of Japan early next month, so it is unlikely to have a direct impact on Korea.

Typhoon Trami, the 20th typhoon on the northwest coast of the Philippines, is also expected to move westward and head toward Vietnam.

Even if there is no direct impact from the two typhoons, strong winds and high waves are expected over the weekend on Jeju Island and the South Sea due to the difference in air pressure between the typhoon in the far south and the high pressure located on the Korean Peninsula.
