China to expand visa-free entry into nine countries, including South Korea, from the 8th

China will implement a pilot policy to expand visa-free entry to citizens of nine countries, including South Korea, from the 8th.

The Chinese foreign ministry said citizens of nine countries - South Korea, Slovakia, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Monaco and Liechtenstein - can enter China without a visa for up to 15 days for business, tourism, family visits or transfers.

This policy will take effect by December 31 next year.

Earlier in February 2023, the Chinese government resumed issuing short-term visas to Koreans, which had been suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, and allowed them to stay visa-free for 72 or 144 hours only if they transited in China.
