The subway station was filled with gray smoke.
Each user covers his mouth and nose and climbs up the stairs in a hurry.
The place where the fire broke out was none other than an escalator going from the 3rd basement floor to the 2nd floor of the station.
[Seo Young-jin / Subway passenger: I thought it was weird because it was acrid, so everyone who was going down went up to the station and ran out of the turnstile.]
Fortunately, there were not many people as the fire broke out at around 9:40 p.m. after work, but four users inhaled smoke and were treated urgently at the scene.
The fire extinguished the blaze within an hour.
Even after the fire was extinguished, both two-way trains passed through Dongdaemun Station without stopping until the smoke completely disappeared from the station.
However, the cause of the fire has not been identified, so a joint inspection will be conducted.
Two coast guard members dive into the sea without hesitation.
At around 7:30 p.m. last night, a man in his 70s fell into the water off the coast of Expo in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.
The man was found to have fallen into the sea while sitting on the railing of the port, and was handed over to 119 rescue teams for treatment.
Around the same time, a fire broke out in the 5-ton fish farm management line in the southwest sea of Jijukdo Island in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Four foreign sailors were on board, and fortunately, they were evacuated in an auxiliary ship after reporting to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard, who were dispatched to the scene, worked with fishermen to extinguish the fire and put it out in about two hours.
