The Ministry of Unification said it sent an official letter to the National Assembly again asking for a recommendation for a director of the North Korean Human Rights Foundation under the North Korean Human Rights Act.
It is the 14th official letter to request the recommendation of directors since 2016 when the North Korean Human Rights Act was enacted, and the second since the launch of the 22nd National Assembly.
In the official letter, the Ministry of Unification reportedly mentioned the Seoul High Court ruling that the National Assembly's failure to recommend a director of the North Korean Human Rights Foundation on the 17th of last month was illegal.
The North Korean Human Rights Foundation was established by the enactment of the law in 2016, but it has not yet been launched because the National Assembly has not recommended directors.
