Prosecutors investigating the case of political broker Myung Tae-kyun have secured a call file on Myung's mobile phone, so-called "golden phone," related to the alleged intervention of Yoon Suk Yeol's presidential nomination.
The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office's exclusive investigation team secured the original recording of the two-and-a-half-minute call between President Yoon and Myung on the morning of May 9, 2022, through a mobile phone and USB forensics voluntarily submitted by Myung.
The prosecution believes that the original version contains the contents of Yoon Han-hong and Kwon Sung-dong's remarks that Kim Young-sun seems uncomfortable, and that President Yoon said he would talk to Yoon Sang-hyun, chairman of the nomination management committee, one more time.
Earlier, President Yoon explained at a press conference last month that he had never told anyone to give him a nomination and that he did not even know that the head of the mission at the time was Yoon Sang-hyun.
The prosecution also found out that about 50 minutes after the call, Kim said to Myung, "The person-in-law called now, don't worry, it will be fine."
In addition, Myung's four deliveries of the results of the "non-public opinion poll" to President Yoon through messenger before and after the last presidential election are also believed to be included in the prosecution's data.
