Actor Park Sung-hoon uploaded a cover of Japanese adult products parodying the "Squid Game" series on his personal SNS and was at the center of the controversy, and he bowed his head explaining why this happened.

Park Sung-hoon said in an interview held today (8th) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, "I bow to everyone who would have been uncomfortable with a big personal mistake and sincerely apologize. I came here with a heavy and nervous mind that I feel like I have caused a lot of trouble for making our work, and I think I will suffer other damage in the derived articles," he said.

Park Sung-hoon then expressed his trembling voice and said, "We were actively exchanging reactions between the person in charge and viewers not long after the work was released. But I found the picture in question and this happened in the process of sending it to the person in charge," he said.

He said, "I am so sorry because I know that it is a ridiculous mistake that can only sound like an excuse no matter what the explanation is. "I was shocked to see that there was such a video, and I felt bad, and I felt the seriousness of the situation and thought that I should raise the problem," he added.

In addition, Park Sung-hoon emphasized that he had never seen the adult in question.

He also clarified some suspicions that he was trying to share photos of adult products through a secondary account rather than the main account. He said, "As you can see if you contact Instagram, I've never made a secondary account or used it. I apologize deeply once again for making a controversial mistake," he bowed.

Finally, Park Sung-hoon said, "I think I have to carry it because I think it's my fault. As for me, I hope you will see my work warmly even if you criticize me harshly.

Earlier on the 30th of last month, Park Sung-hoon posted a picture of the cover of Japanese adult products on his Instagram story and immediately deleted it. In the photo in question, the nudity of women in 'Squid Game' costumes was exposed.

Netizens who saw this voiced criticism over the public posting of photos of high-level Japanese adults. In particular, some pointed out that there seems to be a lack of copyright awareness for the works he has appeared in.

As the controversy grew, Park Sung-hoon's agency, BH Entertainment, explained, "Park Sung-hoon accidentally pressed the wrong post he received via DM (personal message) and posted it on Instagram Story." He continued, "The actor himself was so surprised. I'm reflecting on myself," he said.

However, as it was pointed out that the explanation was unclear in that it had to go through several processes to upload due to the nature of Instagram, the agency said, "The actor saved the photo to be sent to the person in charge of the company, but it was accidentally posted on social media." I'm reflecting a lot because the actor himself is the most upset and surprised," he said.
