Another hurricane is on alert as it moves northward toward Florida, the U.S., where Hurricane "Hurlin" has caused the worst damage.

Milton, which developed from a tropical storm to a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, is heading north toward Florida with strong winds of 130 km/h.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicted that "Milton" is likely to make landfall in Tampa Bay, Florida, on Wednesday local time, after growing its power to at least Category 3.

It was then expected to penetrate central Florida and escape into the Atlantic Ocean.

Florida has declared a state of emergency in 51 of its 67 counties and ordered evacuations for residents in at-risk areas.

He also urged residents across the state to secure a week's worth of food and water.

In densely populated Tampa Bay, a storm surge brought by Hurricane Hurlin has killed 12 people, and emergency restoration work has not yet been completed.

Hurricanes "Kirk" and "Lesley" also remain in the Atlantic Ocean, causing three hurricanes to occur simultaneously since September for the first time ever.
