Former U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has called Anderson Cooper, the leading anchor of the U.S. news channel CNN, by a female name, the Associated Press reported.
Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social, calling Cooper's first name, Anderson, a female name, 'Alison'.
He also called CNN fake news one after another at local Michigan campaigns and sarcastically called Anderson Cooper Alison Cooper.
Trump's reference to Cooper as a female name appears to have deliberately utilized the feminized image that has long been used as a bias against LGBTQ men.
This is interpreted as a strategy to boost support among male voters by highlighting his masculinity at the end of the presidential election.
