Changdeokgung Palace As Donhawmun is undergoing renovation from next month, the entrance to Changdeokgung Palace will be changed to Geumhomun Gate, west of Donhawmun.

The National Heritage Administration said that the Changdeokgung Palace Donhawmun, the oldest wooden building among existing palace gates, will be undergoing a major renovation from the 11th of next month to 2026.

As a result, he added that he is also considering changing the temporary entrance to Changdeokgung Palace to Kumho Gate and designating a temporary exit separately.

Donhawmun, the main gate of Changdeokgung Palace, was first built in May 1412, and it was repaired only once in 1609, so a recent safety inspection diagnosed that it needs to be repaired extensively.
