Namyangju Mayor Joo Kwang-deok as chairman of the second half of the Gyeonggi-do Mayor's County Council.

Namyangju Mayor Joo Kwang-deok of Gyeonggi Province was elected as chairman of the second half of the 8th Gyeonggi-do Mayor and County Council.

The council made the decision yesterday (11th) after holding the third extraordinary meeting at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office.

The term of office is until June 2026.The new chairman

said, "We will try to resolve the current issues of each city and county through rapid, active and sincere communication," adding, "We will reflect the voices of Gyeonggi Province so that practical decentralization can take place."

The Gyeonggi-do Mayor and County Council was formed in 1996 to promote exchanges, cooperation, and efficient administration of 31 cities and counties in the province.
