Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said that the delivery platform win-win consultative body agreed on a plan to cut brokerage fees, but it became a half-way consultation, with half of the companies opposing it.
Representative Lee said at the Supreme Council, "If self-regulation is impossible, we have no choice but to create a certain sanctions plan."
He then emphasized that he would strengthen the management and supervision of online platforms by focusing his party's power, saying, "If we use monopoly to tyranny, we will ruin the market."
The Euljiro Committee of the Democratic Party also held a press conference at the National Assembly and criticized that the win-win plan was unilaterally announced as a result of the Yoon Suk Yeol government's insistence on self-regulation through a win-win consultative body and ignoring the reality of small business owners.
