New York prosecutors investigating Trump's sex scandal gag payment have said they agree to delay the sentence to provide time to process Trump's request to dismiss the case.
In a letter to Judge Juan Merchant, the Manhattan district attorney opposed Trump's request to dismiss the case and explained that the felony conviction should be maintained.
In response, Trump's spokesman called it a "complete and decisive victory."
Earlier in May, Trump was convicted of handing over $130,000 to a former adult movie star to prevent sexual exposure.
After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in July that "the president cannot be criminally prosecuted for conduct related to his official duties," Trump demanded the case be dismissed based on this.
