"Koryo Pharmaceutical Rebate" Doctor's First Prosecution...280 more doctors investigated.

Doctors and hospital staff suspected of receiving illegal rebates in exchange for prescribing Koryo Pharmaceutical products will be tried.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has arrested and charged doctor A and hospital employee B on charges of violating the medical law and committing malpractice.

According to the prosecution, Mr. A is accused of receiving a certain percentage of the sales price from an employee of Korea Pharmaceutical from 2018 to last year in exchange for using the products.

B was also found to have received 1.4 billion won between 2017 and 2023.

The police have been investigating since April after detecting circumstantial evidence that Korea Pharmaceutical provided illegal rebates to more than 1,000 doctors in exchange for prescribing its drugs.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has received more than 280 doctors from the police without detention and is investigating further.
