It rains with strong winds from night.

In particular, Jeju Island and the southern coast are expected to receive strong rain of about 10 to 30 millimeters per hour overnight, so caution is needed.

From the day after tomorrow, the cold air will come down, and the temperature will drop significantly, and the first snow will also fall in Seoul.

I'll connect with a reporter to find out more about the prospect of precipitation.

Reporter Kim Min-kyung, does it rain a lot like heavy rain from night?

[Reporter]
As the low pressure in the west of the Korean Peninsula gradually approaches, it is expected to start raining in the western region and Jeju Island at night and expand across the country by early tomorrow morning.

By tomorrow, there will be up to 100mm of heavy rain in the mountains of Jeju, with 20 to 60mm on the southern coast and 10 to 40mm on the southern inland and central parts.

In particular, it is expected that Jeju Island will receive torrential rain of around 30mm per hour overnight and 10 to 20mm of heavy rain near the southern coast and Jirisan Mountain, so caution is needed.

This rain will also be accompanied by strong winds.

With a preliminary warning of strong winds in coastal areas, Honam, Chungnam, and some inland areas of Yeongnam, and a preliminary warning of strong winds in all seas,
From the night of
, strong winds of more than 20m per second are expected to blow across the country tomorrow on the west coast, south coast, and Jeju Island, so it is necessary to prepare for strong winds.

Rain will mostly stop tomorrow morning, but some central regions will continue into the night.

Is there a possibility that the temperature will drop significantly the day after tomorrow and the first snow will fall in Seoul?

[Reporter]
This is because a strong chill descends from the north under the influence of a low pressure accompanied by cold air from the upper layer.

The morning temperature in Seoul will be 9 degrees tomorrow, 1 degree the day after tomorrow, and 8 degrees lower.

On top of that, a small-scale low pressure will develop again on the West Sea.

Currently, the water temperature in the West Sea is slightly higher than 14 to 16 degrees, and additional water vapor is supplied at sea, which is expected to further develop the cloud belt.

For this reason, the first snow is expected in inland areas such as Seoul, as it is expected to rain and snow in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon-do from early Wednesday morning.

Rain and snow will mix between dawn and morning and then mainly rain in the afternoon, but the temperature will drop at night and snow will fall again.

The amount of rain will be 5 to 20mm nationwide, but it will snow up to 15cm in Gangwon Province, up to 10cm in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, and 1 to 5cm in Seoul and other metropolitan areas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said this week is expected to have a long impact, with rain and snow repeatedly falling and stopping along with the cold.
