OOTV (CEO Lee Hyun-sook), a multi-platform production company, is launching a new entertainment show called "Public Request (tentative)."
"National Request" is an R&D entertainment that draws on the process of developing and launching new products in cooperation with companies after receiving requests to develop "national items" that the people want. When multiple product ideas for a specific item are received and delivered to companies through each citizen interview, the company selects candidates that can be actually developed and actually launches "national commissioned products" after a final public vote. It is scheduled to be released in January next year.
It plans to actively accept the ideas and opinions of citizens and viewers on various product lines each time, drawing attention to new products to be born in the future. It is already starting to receive subscribers' ideas about the product through the YouTube channel community of OTB Studio, and unusual ideas from subscribers are pouring into the comments, making it even more exciting to see which of these ideas will be adopted. The official program name of the 'people's request', which has been set as a household agenda, will also receive a 'people's request' in the comments section, drawing attention to the ingenious program name that viewers will suggest.
2PM Jang Woo-young, a member of Korea's representative boy group and with a witty sense of entertainment, was selected as the MC of the program. Jang Woo-young, who is making his first solo appearance since his debut, is said to have expressed expectations and excitement, saying he is well aware of various contents presented by OOTB, such as "Jeon Snack: A Man Who Transits Every Day." In addition, after hearing the unique program concept in which communication with viewers is important, Jang Woo-young expressed his extraordinary determination, saying, "If you're going to do it now, you have to prepare properly by receiving the people's opinions."
In a teaser video first released on the 27th, OTV revealed Jang Woo-young's first meeting with the production team, as well as Jang Woo-young's request to develop actual products on the spot. Jang Woo-young said, "I tend to be picky about my consumption habits," adding, "I think a lot about it. It doesn't make sense even if it's recklessly expensive, but I doubt it even if it's too cheap," he said, raising trust that he will be able to develop national items with fresh ideas and good quality as well as cost-effectiveness.
Producer Ko Dong-wan, who planned another entertainment show to collaborate with companies after "Workman" and "Neo King," said about MC Jang Woo-young, "I cast him because I usually pay attention to his unique sense of entertainment in other programs." He also said, "If we reflect the ultimate 'consumer needs', we plan 'public request' with the expectation that really creative products that don't exist in the world can come out."
