Exclusive Night Worker Fall at Lotte World Hotel...one dead and one seriously injured

A worker in his 60s who was working at night fell at the Lotte World Hotel in Jamsil, Seoul, at around 11:50 last night (28th).

Mr. A was taken to the hospital from cardiac arrest, but he finally died.

In addition, B, a worker in his 40s who was working with him, held on to the gondola for more than an hour and avoided the fall, but was seriously injured.

They are all subcontractor employees, and they were working on the ceiling of the hotel from 10 p.m. when one of the gondola lines connected to the ceiling broke off.

Police and labor authorities will investigate the exact circumstances of the accident and whether it violates the Serious Accident Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
