U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said his Mar-a-Lago meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was very productive and promised cooperation in cracking down on drugs.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social that he discussed important U.S.-Canada agendas, including fentanyl and drug crises, fair trade agreements and a large U.S. trade deficit, which are the result of illegal immigration.

Trump stressed that Trudeau has pledged to cooperate in ending the destruction of American families by drugs and has also discussed other important topics such as energy and trade.

The meeting took place on the 25th when Prime Minister Trudeau visited Trump's Florida mansion, Mar-a-Lago, after Trump announced a 25% tariff on Canada.

Earlier, Trump said he would impose 25% tariffs on all products imported from the two countries before the crime and drug problems flowing into the U.S. through Mexico and Canada are resolved.
