Concerns about housing supply disruptions are rising due to political instability triggered by the declaration of martial law.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it will proceed smoothly with the supply of public housing this year and next year.

However, as much of the big real estate measures must go through the National Assembly and the government's strong drive must be supported, we are concerned about many difficulties in implementing mid- to long-term policies.

Reporter Kim Ki-bong reports.

By the end of October this year, the nationwide housing license volume was 244,777.

It is only 45.3% of the government's target of 540,000 units this year.

Moreover, Seoul's licensing reached 27,095, only 24.6% of its target.

Conscious of these concerns, the government reaffirmed the uninterrupted supply of the public housing sector this year and next.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport held an occupation meeting with public construction companies such as LH and SH, the Korea Real Estate Agency, and HUG, and

Next year, it said it will supply 140,000 construction public housing licenses, as well as 252,000 units, the largest ever, including purchase and lease on a deposit basis.

[Park Sang-woo / Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: Construction of public housing is also aimed at building 70,000 units, 20,000 more than this year. In order to give the people confidence in the continuous supply of housing, they must play a role beyond expectations in the public.]

In particular, he explained that this year's supply disruptions are currently under deliberation due to the licensing process, so this year's target of 140,000 units can be achieved.

[Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport official: There are a lot of pre-procedures (for licensing). If you submit related documents to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport around October, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport approves them. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport examines it for a month or two, and most of them approve the license in December. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.]

However, it is unclear whether mid- to long-term real estate policies will proceed properly in the face of political turmoil triggered by martial law and the government's difficult prediction in the future.

Of the 49 policy tasks for the August 8 housing supply measures, 17 are possible only through the enactment and amendment of the Act on Special Cases for Reconstruction and Redevelopment, but they are inevitably pushed to the lower ranks.

In addition, it plans to supply 80,000 houses by the first half of next year through the lifting of additional green belts,

Concerns are being raised about how driven the remaining procedures with sharp interests will be, such as the first new city reconstruction project that has just designated a leading district.
