President-elect Trump rang the bell to mark the opening of the New York Stock Exchange to mark the selection of the "Person of the Year" by Time, a U.S. weekly magazine.
After being convicted in May of providing money for sex scandals in a Manhattan court in New York, he made a splendid return to his hometown of New York.
Trump has declared that he will grant subsidies to companies returning to the United States, saying he will "work an economy that we have never seen before."
[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect] We're going to give subsidies to companies coming back to the U.S. I want everyone to come back to the United States, starting with the automakers.]
He also reiterated his pledge to lower prices by lowering taxes and increasing oil production.
[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect] The United States really has goods that no other country has. It's oil and gas.
Meanwhile, the U.S. producer price index, which affects consumer prices, rose 0.4% in November, higher than an expert estimate of 0.2%.
Compared to the same period last year, it rose 3% to the highest in a year and nine months.
As inflation data topped expectations in November, doubts about the sustainability of a slowdown in U.S. inflation are growing.
Trump's tariff and tax cut policies have also raised concerns about inflation, raising the possibility that the Federal Reserve will adjust the pace of interest rate cuts starting next year.
However, it is not expected to have a significant impact on the decision to cut the benchmark interest rate next week.
