The People's Power urged the Democratic Party of Korea to apologize, along with broadcaster Kim Eo-jun, who claimed that an assassination team was launched to kill former representative Han Dong-hoon at the time of the emergency martial law.

In a commentary, floor spokesman Seo Ji-young criticized Kim by saying, "Are you now giving up on Kim's revelation?" citing the fact that he evaluated Kim's claim in a recently released internal Democratic Party report as "significant fiction."

Kim and the Democratic Party demanded that the people immediately apologize for the inflammatory sophistry, saying that the U.S. Embassy in Korea and the U.S. State Department immediately denied the remarks by Kim Byung-joo, a Democratic Party member who pointed to the U.S. side as the source of Kim's claim.
