In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea launched a special emergency committee, the "Monthly Pay Guard," to discuss redesigning the tax system and discovering policies for salaried office workers.

Lawmaker Han Jung-ae, who chaired the committee, said at the launch ceremony of the special committee that high prices and high interest rates will inevitably increase the relative deprivation of office workers, adding that she will redesign a tax system that is unfair to salaried workers.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, also criticized that although inheritance tax and gift tax account for a decreasing proportion of national taxes, the earned income tax has increased by 169 percent in a decade, and that salaried workers have become the "bong" of the government.

'Monthly Guard' has decided to push for the 'Act to Realize Workers' Meal Service', which raises the limit on non-taxable meals for office workers from 200,000 won to 300,000 won.

In addition, the government will raise the basic deduction standard for "children" among dependents to 25 years old and prepare legislation to include after-school arts and sports academy expenses for elementary school children in tax credits.
