The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has set up a central accident response headquarters from 9:30 a.m. to deal with the crash of an aircraft at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that the aircraft had 175 passengers and six crew members on board, and that the exact number of casualties was being determined.
It added that the Air Rail Accident Commission investigator arrived at the scene at 10:10 a.m. to investigate the cause of the accident and that the safe operation of the aircraft was suffered by each airline and airport.
Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sang-woo and Deputy Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Baek Won-guk also reportedly arrived at the accident management headquarters.
