The bereaved families of the Ferry Sewol disaster visited the joint memorial altar for the victims of the Jeju Air flight disaster and shared their pain.

About 30 members of the April 16 Ferry Sewol Disaster Family Council paid tribute today at the joint memorial altar at Muan International Airport, where the bereaved families of the Jeju Air disaster are located.

They visited Mokpo New Port in Jeollanam-do, where the Ferry Sewol hull is located, for the New Year and did not go straight back to Muan Airport.

Kim Jong-ki, chairman of the Sewol Ferry Family Council, said, "We have been fighting for 11 years to create a society where disasters do not repeat in the wake of the Ferry Sewol disaster," adding, "It is tragic and heartbreaking why disasters keep repeating."

In addition, the victims' association of the disaster, which gathered the bereaved families of social disasters such as the collapse of Sampoong Department Store and the Daegu subway fire disaster, also visited Muan Airport.

However, as the memorial crowd gathered, they moved to the joint memorial altar of Muan Sports Park 10km away from Muan Airport to offer flowers and incense.
