2025.01.01 PM 06:45
At least five people have died while setting off fireworks on New Year's Day across Germany.

According to ARD broadcasts, a 45-year-old man died during hospital treatment after seriously injuring his head in a firecracker in Oshats, Saxony.

The man was involved in an accident while setting off a large professional firecracker that included propellants and batteries.

Five people were killed in firecracker-related accidents across Germany, with a man in his 20s dying while using handmade firecrackers in Hamburg.

Firecrackers were intentionally thrown into the crowd or accidentally exploded and injured.

Attacks against police officers and paramedics also injured 14 police officers in Berlin alone, and 330 were arrested for violating the Explosives Act.

In Germany, people who enjoy fireworks on New Year's Day competitively set off fireworks with strong explosiveness and binge drinking, causing casualties every year.
