It turns out that one in 10 couples who got married in Incheon in 2023 are multicultural couples.
According to the "2024 Incheon Multicultural and Foreign Household Statistics," the Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that a total of 1,080 multicultural marriages were made in 2023, up 22.8% and 193 from the previous year.
9.8% of the total number of marriages and 11,075 cases.
Incheon's multicultural population, which acquired Korean citizenship through marriage, special or general naturalization, was 85,029 as of 2023, up 5.5% from a year ago.
The number of foreigners living in Incheon with only foreign nationality stood at 122,050 as of 2023, up 10.8% from a year earlier.
By nationality, Korean-Chinese people accounted for 32.4%, followed by Chinese people with 10.6%, followed by Vietnamese and Thai people.
