The opposition party argued that the head of the Presidential Security Service, who interfered with the execution of the arrest warrant for Yoon Suk Yeol, should be removed from his position immediately and arrested on charges of obstructing the execution of special affairs.
Floor leaders from six opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea, the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, the Progressive Party, the New Reform Party, the Basic Income Party and the Social Democratic Party, said at a press conference at the National Assembly that the Presidential Security Service is not an institution that exists above the law.
Acting President Choi Sang-mok is largely responsible for the incident, and Choi demanded that the bodyguard be commanded to protect the rule of law so that the arrest warrant can be executed.
Also urged the high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office to quickly re-enforce the arrest warrant, saying that there should never be two resignations.
