With the expiration of the Yoon Suk Yeol presidential arrest warrant imminent, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit continues to struggle with the direction of response.

The court rejected President Yoon's objection to the arrest warrant, effectively giving the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit another boost, and we are interested in whether we will try to execute the warrant again today (6th), the last day of the expiration date.

Most of the investigation team, including Senior Superintendent of Public Offices Oh Dong-woon and Chief Prosecutor Cha Jung-hyun, went to work at the government building on holidays to discuss future investigation plans.

Ahead of the deadline for the execution of the warrant, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit sent two official letters to Acting President Choi Sang-mok asking him to direct the security agency to cooperate, but Choi did not answer.

In the meantime, the court rejected the objection that President Yoon had raised, saying it was illegal to prevent him from applying the "restrictions on search" rule under the Criminal Procedure Act when executing the warrant.

The court judged, "The issuance or dismissal of the search warrant is not subject to a quasi-appeal, and therefore, President Yoon's objection itself is not legal."

In addition, it is reasonable to assume that Article 110 of the Criminal Procedure Act, which allows the search for places requiring military secrets, does not apply in the first place when it is a search for the discovery of a defendant, not an object.

In response, President Yoon expressed regret and said, "The purpose of the objection is to disallow arrest and search, and dismissing the application does not mean that the warrant is legal."

He then said he would consider re-appealing to the Supreme Court after finding out the reasons for the dismissal.

The court reaffirmed the legality of the execution of the warrant, but it is still expected to be difficult until actual execution.

While the president still insists that the arrest warrant is illegal, the security service is likely to resist as strongly as it did in the first warrant execution.

With the warrant's expiration date just around the corner, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit's choice is left to decide whether to start the second execution or find another way.
