'Kim Sang-sik' Vietnam beats Thailand to win the Mitsubishi Cup

Vietnam, led by head coach Kim Sang-sik, won the Mitsubishi Cup, called the World Cup in Southeast Asia.

Vietnam beat Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the tournament finals in Bangkok, Thailand, and finally won the first and second games 5-3 overall.

Vietnam's victory is the third in seven years since coach Park Hang-seo in 2018.

Vietnam allowed Thailand's Sarachat to turn the tables with a picturesque mid-range shot in the 19th minute of the second half, when it was 1-1, but it later induced Thailand's own goal and even scored a come-from-behind net to confirm the victory.

Thailand did not return the ball that Vietnam had put out to stop the game and connected it to a surprise mid-range goal, drawing fierce protests from Vietnamese players and spectators.
