Han Seok-kyu, 'MBC Acting Awards,' "I'm sorry," stopped feeling...mourning for the victims of the disaster

Actor Han Suk-kyu, who won the MBC Drama Acting Awards, mourned the victims of the plane disaster.

On the 5th, Han Seok-gyu received the grand prize at the 2024 MBC Acting Awards for the drama "A Very Intimate Traitor."

When his name was called, Han Suk-kyu took the stage and expressed his condolences to the victims of the disaster and the bereaved families, saying, "I want to apologize and apologize for having such a meeting like this with the audience and fellow actors here."

"All our actors do is make gestures for the viewers, but it hurts because something sad happened," he said. "I just want to express my sincere condolences to the bereaved families who are going through great things."

"I have recalled that the biggest theme of the works I have done is family," he said, adding, "I wanted to convey the importance of that family, so I did 'a so intimate traitor.' I wanted to talk about that topic, but I want to apologize to those who lost their families," he said.

Han Seok-gyu, who was unable to speak for a while, said, "Overcome the great sadness..." and then immediately finished his speech, saying, "I'm sorry," and went down the stage.

"Traitor So Close" drew attention as an MBC drama in which Han Suk-kyu was selected as a talent for MBC's 20th open recruitment in 1991 and appeared for the first time in 29 years since "Hotel" in 1995. In the play, he played Jang Tae-soo, a profiler who suspects his daughter as the culprit.

All attendees, including announcer Kim Sung-joo, who was the MC at the ceremony, wore black dresses and suits in the first part of the ceremony. He expressed his acceptance speech and condolences for the victims of the disaster.

The live broadcast of the year-end awards ceremony of the three broadcasting companies, which was previously canceled due to the plane disaster on the 29th of last month, was replaced with a recorded broadcast. As the national mourning period comes to an end, it is being broadcast one after another.
