Gyeonggi Province said it will invest 404.5 billion won in 175 public sewage-related projects, including the establishment of a sewage treatment plant this year.
has allocated 73.6 billion won for the installation of 50 sewage treatment plants and 271.2 billion won for 101 projects, including maintenance of sewage pipes.
It also plans to invest 6.6 billion won in the sewage treatment water reuse project, 3.4 billion won in the installation of four biogasification facilities, and 2.3 billion won in the construction of smart sewage systems.
Twelve of the new sewage treatment plants will be completed within this year.
The province said it will push ahead with the project with the aim of preserving public water quality and establishing water environment infrastructure against climate change.
